Serendipity

Like butterflies in the desert
You
Surprised me

Moving quietly
Gradually
Into my obsessions
I never really stood a chance
Did I?

I usually never respond to poetry, because I never really know what to say. But I really liked this one. A lot.

I still find it astounding that this whole thing happened. I literally feel lucky every day of my life.

Thank *God* I bought that hypnosis book. Of course, the blackmail pictures didn't hurt either. See what planning can do for you? (And I never even had to deploy the sharks with frickin' laser beams)

You do such a great job of forming a vivid picture with few words. What a gift.

Ohh, I like the images this poem brings to mind, maybe pleasant, maybe bothersome, maybe...not.

Amanda - thanks! I never know wha tto say, either. They usually move me, but what do I say? I'm moved? I mean, it's true but it feels lame. Though thinking about it from the receiving end, it's not lame to have someone say that of one's work, so I should leave more comments, LOL!

MuNKi- Wow! I've hypnotised you into thinking you must've hypnotised me. Cool!

Good for me - Thank you very much. That means a lot! :)

Cazzie - Thanks! :) One of the things I like best about poems is that the same poem can mean different things, depending on what you bring to it when you read it. :)
