Crackle of leaf, light and crisp
Shift of twig and pebble underfoot
Fingers of golden light pointing
Between strong trunks
A soft, rustling sigh
The breath of the trees against my cheek
Soft as spider silk
And there you are, my child
Transformed
Renewed
As you lift the prize, victorious.
